Serbian Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic has met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, the deputy commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) armed forces, at the IDEX 2021 arms fair in Abu Dhabi, where they discussed the advancement of the two countries’ cooperation.
According to the Serbian Defense Ministry Feb. 24 press release, they visited together the JP Jugoimport-SDPR exposition stand at which the products of the Serbian defense industry are shown.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed said that the UAE continues to closely cooperate with Serbia and that the agreements made so far will be upgraded. The press release also quoted the sheikh as adding that he supports Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s efforts to preserve stability and comprehensive peace in the region and improve the citizens’ living standard.
The two officials also said at the meeting that both countries are committed to the vaccination of their population and the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, expecting that such protection of the citizens will help economic growth and lead to a lasting stability and development of both countries, the press release added.
