Poland is currently first in terms of IT technologies out of 23 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, while although at the very top in the area of talented IT experts, Serbia is not among the first five countries of the region, a March 2 study on the future of the IT sector in Emerging Europe shows.
The study, which was conducted by the London Emerging Europe website, shows that out of 23 countries of the region, Serbia and Hungary rank higher than Poland in the area of talent, while Estonia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Latvia have a better IT business environment.
Serbia was given 46.46 points for a solid seventh place behind Slovenia and in front of Latvia, the Euractiv Serbia website said.
As for individual profiles, the study says that Serbia is a country that has made strides in developing its IT industry and that it is a leader in the area in the Western Balkans, with the potential to become a leader in IT on a larger scale. The study adds that, like many of the countries of the region, Serbia has a wealth of experience in the technical field.
