Attorney Borivoje Borovic said on May 18 that Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic had to be questioned as a witness in relation to his statement that the criminal gang of Veljko Belivuk, which was linked with top officials, had been making kebabs using human flesh.
A several days ago, speaking for TV Prva, Vuvic shocked the public by reiterating several times that the arrested members of the Belivuk mob had been mincing people and “making kebabs” of human flesh.
Borovic told BETA that with this horrifying statement, Aleksandar Vucic had disturbed the public and exerted pressure on the judiciary.
“Political powerholders in Serbia are rather scared as they had amateurly engaged in contact with criminal gangs and now, they do not know how to get out of those shameful activities. Instead of seeing the prosecution launch legal processes against all state officials connected with the mob, those politicians are now trying to obtain the public support by revealing morbid information through media outlets,” Borovic said.
Asked how it was possible that the gang in question had been in parallel mincing people and together with the police beating young people protesting outside the Parliament building and securing the presidential inauguration, Borovic replied that this regime had been for years using criminals in election campaigns for beating people.
Borovic described Vucic’s statements on crimes committed by certain mobs as contamination of evidence. “No president or minister can reveal or comment on the evidence during an investigation as it represents direct pressure on the prosecution and courts. No head of the state would ever make public such brutal or unverified information about people being minced or about making kebabs using human flesh,” the attorney stressed.
