People's Party leader Vuk Jeremic said on July 20 that the party had filed charges against the two owners of Millennium Team as well as Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic for abuse of office in the construction of a gas pipeline from Belgrade to Loznica.
Jeremic told a news conference that the job was worth nearly EUR75 million and that the party raised charges against Millenium Team owners Stojan Vujko and Ivan Bosnjak for organized crime as well. He said that the party had received all of the information that it had on the construction of the pipeline from people in the government, who, he said, were probably fed up from watching what was happening.
He said he would like to hear what Mihajlovic had to say as she had previously stated that it was not possible to build secret gas pipelines in Serbia, considering that the decisions were not publicly available. Jeremic said he wanted to know why a tender for building the pipeline was not scheduled which might have attracted regional companies or international companies.
The Millennium Team company released a statement saying that Jeremic had made accusations before and that "that were rejected down to the very details."
