54 people died from the consequences of the coronavirus infection in Serbia in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of fatalities to 8,946, it was announced on the Health Ministry's web-site covid19.rs on Oct. 14.
There were 6,786 new infections among 22,710 tested people in the past 24 hours. 6,643 patients are currently being treated for the disease in hospitals, 286 of them on ventilators.
The Health Ministry announced on Oct. 14 that the people can now report via the Viber application those physicians who do not recommend patients to get vaccinated against covid without a clear, justified and identified medical reason.
All such reported irregularities will be processed by the Serbian Medical Chamber's Court of Honor, "i.e. the mentioned physicians will be prosecuted for jeopardizing the life and health of the people," it was stated in the announcement.
