Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has said that the World Economic Forum has placed Serbia among 16 countries where it is planning to open its center (for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR)), which, she said, represents a great recognition for Serbia’s educational system, economy and its citizens.
Speaking for state public broadcaster RTS in Geneva in the evening on Feb. 7, Brnabic said that the decision to open the center in Serbia spoke a lot of the country’s position and the achieved progress and also that it had been recognized as a strong, safe and technologically advanced country.
“Serbia will be the third European country to host this center, after the World Economic Forum opened two - one in Oslo, Norway, and one in Moscow, Russia, a month ago,” Brnabic stressed, adding that the center would operate as part of the Serbian government’s Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment where there it would have the best infrastructure and would be able to start operating as early as on March 1.
She added that the center would thereby have excellent communication with the government, businesses and the civil sector which would facilitate the development of biomedicine, biotechnology and artificial intelligence.
“The next step for us are artificial intelligence and biotechnology and I believe that the results will be beyond all expectations. This will help attract new investments and funds which will be injecting money in Serbia’s economy and innovative companies and thereby contribute to Serbia’s overall success,” Brnabic noted.
