Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that the ruling party’s election campaign will be positive and will rely on the so far achievements and plans for the future.
“You can only image what I could have brought along about presidential candidates that would have kept people throughout the night outraged at how Serbia had been destroyed, but I shall not do such thing,” Vucic told TV Happy in the evening on Feb. 7.
Commenting on the opposition, Vucic said that they would be speaking of themselves, noting that with the recent allegations of planned imports of votes from Republika Srpska (RS), the opposition “took a hammer in their hands and hit themselves in the head.” He went on to say that “the entire RS is embittered, everyone originating from that region, because the opposition cannot conceal their selfishness. They do not understand a thing, Serbia has become a different country which will not allow brutal outbursts of hate against RS citizens, there will be no more blockades of the Drina River, this is no longer that country,” Vucic stressed.
He also said that Serbia and RS had been jointly marking all key days and the history of the plight of one people, which could be scattered over 100 countries, but still constituted one nation.
Vucic also said that the opposition had been involved in criminalization of the Serbs in Kosovo’s north, that he had visited Kosovo many times, while his son had been there more than 40 times in the last 10 years, adding that those branding “Vucic as a traitor” and declaring themselves as Serbian patriots “should be asked when they have visited Kosovo.”
