The Serbian Electoral Commission had decided to open 77 polling stations for some 40,000 voters in Serbian diaspora for the elections on April 3, Don’t Let Belgrade D(r)own movement said in a statement on March 15.

The movement said that the We Must coalition had conducted a campaign titled “Diaspora Will also Vote,” within which they had reached a large number of young people and had instructed them on how to register to vote outside Serbia.

The movement further said that the campaign had started with a number of online informative meetings with people across the world and that its focus was on the website, where steps for registering to vote outside Serbia had been regularly updated. “Despite all administrative obstacles and complex registration procedure, and also restrictions in terms that opening a polling station required registration of a minimum of 100 voters, some 40,000 people demonstrated the interest in actively engaging in Serbia’s political life. This represents a great success of our large diaspora,” it is said in the movement\s statement.

The movement also said that the We Must coalition would also have its representative in polling boards in Serbian diaspora and called on those who were interested to apply through the website of the Don’t Let Belgrade D(r)own movement.
