A bomb was thrown at a family house of Zoran Jovanovic in the village of Mogila, the Vitina municipality, in the night between July 10 and 11, but the grenade did not explode, according to a statement from the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija on July 11.
“No doubt this attack aimed to deter Zoran and his family and make them leave their home, and if the grenade had gone off, the attack could have been fatal,” it is said in the statement.
The family members have earlier also been attacked, while the property of their relatives, who live in the same street, has been burnt and sprayed with hate messages, according to the statement.
The Office for Kosovo and Metohiju also said that this incident had been reported to the police, but noted that previous attacks had not been resolved nor had the perpetrators been punished.
Mogila is a multiethnic village.
