Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on July 27 that over the past 10 years, since he took over as president, Serbia had made very big steps, adding that he was very proud of the results, because the country “doesn’t look like” what he inherited it in 2012 at all.

Having attended the launch of protective measures for the Central Tower at the Staro Sajmiste memorial complex, Vucic said that in 2012 the average wage was about EUR330, nearly twice lower than it is now, adding that over the past decade Serbia built more highways than in the past half a century, and more hospitals than in the past 60 years.

“Serbia is now modernized and changed, showing that it can be a country of success, not just od doom and misery. We have witnessed peace, stability, enormous economic progress and fiscal consolidation. The public debt is 53.6 percent, despite the pandemic and a war on the European soil,” Vucic said, explaining that it’s very important to stay on the path of peace and stability, modernization and industrialization.
