Cabinet: All Personal Data on Serbian Citizens Will Be Protected Like in EU

Negotiations on Serbia’s new Cabinet will start Aug. 8 and last seven days, meaning that the country will quite likely have a new executive authority by the end of the month, the Vecernje Novosti daily has reported citing unofficial sources.

According to the paper, Aleksandar Vucic, the president of Serbia and leader of the Serbian Progressive Party, will be meeting with the heads of those parties believed to comprise the ruling majority – an allegiance indicated during the recent vote for parliament speaker.

“This means that the Progressives’ delegation and leader should be sitting down with the Socialists and United Serbia, the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, the Party of United Pensioners of Serbia and the Social Democratic Party of Serbia – which together hold 154 seats in Parliament,” the Novosti wrote.

It was further alleged that said negotiations would determine not only the country’s strategic orientation but also the heads of each ministry.

“The plan is for Serbia’s largest party [i.e. the Progressives] to hold a session once the negotiations are finished – at some point next week. There, the list of Cabinet members and prime minister designate will be confirmed, after which the party’s executive committee will meet and ratify the list as well,” the paper stated.
