NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg informed on Aug. 13 the Foreign Ministry of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the military alliance was developing a set of measures tailor-made for that country.
In a letter to Bosnian Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic, Stoltenberg said the Russian aggression against Ukraine had fundamentally undermined security in Europe, and that NATO was therefore ready to continue to support partners that may be exposed to malignant influences and pressure in order to strengthen their resilience. The letter added that NATO was developing a package of measures tailor-made for Bosnia, in line with local needs.
Stoltenberg stressed that NATO strongly supported Bosnia and Herzegovina's Euro-Atlantic path. The Treaty Organization will continue to work with your country and other international partners to preserve stability and promote reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he underscored in the letter.
The NATO general secretary wrote to Turkovic in response to her earlier missive sent to the seat of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization stating that "Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing many challenges in light of current events in Europe and the region."
