Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Feb. 10 that stability, protection and the further improvement of the standard of living and growing investments were the key features of her cabinet’s first 100 days in office.
She said during a ceremony in the Serbian town of Lebane to mark 100 days in office that her government had worked to prepare a developmental budget, address problems in the energy sector created by the global energy crisis, produce a set of laws to improve the situation in the judiciary and protect the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija who are exposed to permanent provocative acts and attacks.
The prime minister also said that the new budget had made it possible to hike pensions and public sector salaries. “Our next goal is to make sure that pensions can grow faster than average salaries in order to set up a durable parity,” Brnabic said, adding that her cabinet was working hard to protect the most vulnerable categories of citizens and give them a dignified life.
The prime minister recalled that the budget deficit was 3.3 percent of GDP at the end of 2022, and that the public debt had equaled 55.2 percent of GDP as opposed to 50 percent now. Brnabic said that in the first 100 days no effort was spared to keep attracting foreign investors to ensure sustainable growth.
