In the morning of March 29, bomb sweeps began at University of Kragujevac campuses due to threats that the institution had received, BETA learned at the city’s Police Directorate.
The University reported the threats at 8:20 a.m. As is customary in Serbia, the schools of the University – typically called faculties – are located throughout the city and, according to the threats, explosive devices were set at each location.
BETA was told that, following evacuations, sweeps were first conducted at the School of Law, the School of Economics, the School of Math and Natural Sciences and the Offices of the Dean building – all of which were cleared, proving the threats were false.
Sweeps of the remaining University campuses continue.
