A delegation of the United States European Command is on an official visit to Serbian Army’s Air Force and Air Defense units for to exchange combat search and rescue experience, the Serbian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Aug. 8.
The activities performed at the military airport in Batajnica on Aug. 8, were attended by the acting defense minister assistant for human resources, Sinisa Radovic, and U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill.
On the table are the key issues relating to safe and efficient combat search and rescue activities and possibilities for further collaboration between the Serbian and U.S. Air Forces in this domain. Similar operational procedures are performed during engagement of helicopters providing help to civilians in emergency situations, according to the statement.
The two delegations shall exchange experience in performing operational procedures in planning and executing combat search and rescue activities and use of modern devices and equipment facilitating search, locating and evacuating members of the armed forces and civilians. Most important activities are performed at the Pilot Mihajlo Petrovic military airport in Nis.
