University of Belgrade Moves Up in the Shanghai Ranking

The University of Belgrade has improved its position in the Shanghai Ranking of world universities.

According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), published on website www.shanghairanking.com on Aug. 15, the University of Belgrade places between 301st and 400th position.

The University of Novi Sad has retained its place in the group of universities ranked between 901st and 1,000th position. 

As regards the universities in the region, the University of Zagreb has kept a position between 401st and 500th place, while the University of Ljubljana has dropped down in the group between 601st and 700th place.

ARWU is an informal list, but is regarded as one of the three most influential and widely observed university rankings.

Harvard University in the U.S. has topped the ranking for 21 years now.
