Opposition MPs are bullies, thieves and barbarians, and their conduct in Parliament is shameful and senseless, Vladimir Orlic, the speaker of the Serbian National Assembly, said on Sept. 6.
Commenting on the opposition’s attempt to block the assembly’s operation demanding a snap parliamentary vote, Orlic told Pink TV that “there is nothing contentious” about the elections and that information on the matter will be forthcoming “in the next few weeks.”
He also reiterated allegations that the opposition is attempting to “prevent the authorities from increasing pensions.”
According to Orlic, all the opposition’s demands have boiled down to having a national broadcasting frequency awarded “to their own tycoon,” while calls for cancelling Pink TV’s broadcasting license are simply attempts “to sabotage the competition.”
