The European Union (EU) could see commitment and positive developments regarding the necessary and long-awaited reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, EU Enlargement and Neighborhood Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi said on Dec. 5.

Varhelyi also said it was his pleasure to wish a welcome to participants of the Second High-Level Political Forum on EU integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Much has happened since our previous meeting in Sarajevo. We see commitment. We see positive developments in relation to the much needed and long-awaited reforms,” he said.

Before the EU-Bosnia and Herzegovina High-Level Political Forum on Bosnia’s progress on the EU path, leaders of Bosnian political parties met with Varhelyi in Brussels. But, according to media reports in the morning on Dec. 5, the EU will most likely decide not to open negotiation chapters with Bosnia at the upcoming summit in Brussels.
