The European Union’s special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has confirmed that the two parties’ chief negotiators will meet again in Brussels, on April 4, regarding a decision by the Central Bank of Kosovo to abolish the use of the Serbian dinar in Kosovo.
"The two parties will return to Brussels this week, and I hope they will be able to resolve the remaining differences on Thursday," Lajcak wrote on Facebook on April 1.
Lajcak recalled that on March 25 he met in Brussels with the two chief negotiators, Besnik Bislimi of Kosovo, and Serbia’s Petar Petkovic, and that they continued talks as to how to find "an implementable solution for people affected by the Central Bank’s decision."
"All in all, it was a useful meeting; both sides had the opportunity to explain their ideas and positions. In the end, we concluded that another meeting will be necessary," Lajcak, also the EU special representative for the Western Balkans, wrote on April 1.
