The Alliance for Serbia said on Dec. 23 that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was "visibly nervous, because he's aware he can no longer hide from either the local public or the international community that his closest allies were involved in criminal arms trade dealings and in draining money from the Krusik weapons factory. It is equally clear that the situation must be very similar in other arms plants in Serbia."
The Alliance said that "Vucic and (the interior minister, Nebojsa) Stefanovic are caught in a lie, and it is now up to the Prosecution Office to find out who was part of the chain of command in the business affairs of Krusik and GIM, and who's responsible for the tens of millions of euros the state has lost."
"President Vucic, you, just like any other autocrat for that matter, can't understand that the interior minister's father and your cronies are not the state, and that no one's attacking the state, but everyone unveiling the details of illegal arms dealings in Krusik protects it against corruption and international shame. It is not the opposition, free journalists and Aleksandar Obradovic jeopardizing the jobs and pays in Krusik, but it is because of your criminal affairs and the money that has found its way into private pockets," the Alliance argues.
