U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Anthony Godfrey has said he hopes that Belgrade and Pristina will reach a settlement on Kosovo by the next autumn and that progress will be achieved before the presidential race in the U.S.

“We are expecting that progress in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue will be made before the presidential elections in the U.S. (Nov. 3) as progress is absolutely necessary for stability in the region. It is why we will continue our work on supporting the dialogue,” Ambassador Godfrey told the Jan. 14 issue of Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti.

The Belgrade-Pristina dialogue has been stalled since November 2018, when Pristina imposed 100 percent tariffs on the goods coming from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
