The share of ICT in Serbia's gross domestic product (GDP) at the end of the first half of 2020 was six percent, as opposed to 2.4 percent in 2012, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Sept. 14.

Brnabic and Chinese Ambassador Chen Bo attended the opening of Huawei's Innovation and Digital Development Center in Belgrade.

In Brnabic's words, that center will significantly assist in Serbia's further digitalization in the coming period, read a press release on the government's website. She recalled that she had set the launch of the country's digital transformation as the priority of her cabinet, in a bid to make the Serbian economy innovation- and creativity-based.

Chen Bo said that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Serbia and China was constantly developing and that cooperation in all areas had led to great and fruitful results, which boosted the economic development of the two countries and brought the citizens concrete benefits.
