Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic stated on April 21 that the latest statements of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic about Montenegro were "displays of affectation and self-pity," adding that attempts were being made to blame Montenegro for the latest wave of Greater-Serbian nationalism.

"Try to remember even one damage or victim caused by Montenegrin nationalism. It is odd and incomprehensible that the Serbian president identifies himself with Serbia, and Serbia with the Greater-Serbian nationalism. The stability of the region is being undermined under the guise of protection of rights of the endangered Serb population in the region," Djukanovic told reporters in Podgorica.

Vucic has stated in an interview to TV Face that Djukanovic's nationalism was "that of a cave-man and people in Montenegro have recognized that..." "I can understand that he was without sin while he supported the efforts of the Army of Republika Srpska (RS) in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that he is without sin nowadays when he speaks all the worst about RS and the Serb people," Vucic added.

Djukanovic has stated that the weakness of the Serbian policy's position was evident from the fact that, instead of proper arguments, quasi-arguments from the past were being used, and that the goal was to discredit the Montenegrin president by lies.
