Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on June 23 that 180,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine had been donated to Kosovo as part of cooperation with the European Union's institutions.

The Ministry said on Facebook that "Kosovo can rely on the European team. Norway has donated more than 180,000 doses of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine to Kosovo. Good cooperation with (the EU special envoy for Serbia-Kosovo dialogue) Miroslav Lajcak and EU institutions."

A couple of days ago the United States promised to donate 55 million vaccine doses for immunization against the coronavirus in several countries, including Kosovo. Kosovo has managed to procur vaccines based on the Covax mechanism and from European Union.

New estimates say that Kosovo has vaccinated around eight percent of the population, and the government plans to raise the figure to 60 percent.
