In the wake of President Aleksandar Vucic’s address before the U.N. General Assembly – during which he questioned the difference between the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine vs. that of Serbia – Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has stated that “it is clear why the West is pushing for a final agreement on normalizing relations between Belgrade and Pristina.”

“It’s because they no longer want their own hypocrisy to be up for discussion. [Hypocrisy] that becomes apparent every time they look at Serbia,” Brnabic told the RTS public service on Sept. 22 adding that “as soon as one mentions Serbia, all talk of Ukraine’s territorial integrity rings hollow.”

Asked about the formation of the new Serbian government, Brnabic said that “due to an eventful September, the [formation of the] new government will have to wait until October.”
