Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani stated on June 1 that Serbia “must stop activities aimed at destabilizing Kosovo, so that violence in the north of the country can stop.”

“The challenge is coming from Serbia, the country that has yet to reconcile with its past,” Osmani said on the sidelines of the Summit of the European political community in Moldova. She added that the “situation is tense,” but that the rule of law in Kosovo had to be restored and that the realization had to come that “the threat is coming from Serbia’s denial of existence of Kosovo as a sovereign state.”

Osmani stated that Serbia was actively supporting “illegal structures” in Kosovo in destabilizing the country from within. “President (of Serbia Aleksandar) Vucic has to stop supporting criminal gangs if he truly wants peace,” she stated.
