The president of the Liberals and Democrats (LIBDEM), Djordjo Zujovic, said on Oct. 25 that a decision to activate the mayor of Cajetina, Milan Stamatovic, and a former Serbian president, Tomislav Nikolic, was proof enough that Russia would not let change of government happen in Serbia.

We can see that all Russian and Chinese bench players have been activated ahead of elections, which is the first signal that the next vote will not be a vote for power only, but also a fight, in which all of us will have to work to our last atom of strength to protect at least the tiniest of chances for Serbia to be a normal, modern society, Zujovic cautioned.

The LIBDEM leader also warned that President Aleksandar Vucic’s promise that his much-heralded popular movement would be inaugurated at last, and that Stamatovic and Nikolic would join it, suggested that “all deeply compromised and blackmailed individuals” were activated for the purposes of election.

“It’s a message for all of us that Serbia is still a training ground for Russian geopolitical interests, and Chinese economic endeavors, but this time everyone involved, either as a debtor or as a creditor, will be exposed,” Zujovic was explicit.
