Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated on Jan. 13 that efficiency was necessary in forming the new Serbian government, whose main focus would be the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

"In order to continue work on EU integration — an unequivocal priority for the incoming administration — the efficient formation of Serbia's new government is key. The continuation of the Normalization Dialogue with Pristina will be a major focus here, especially considering Belgrade's recent decision enabling freedom of movement for vehicles with license plates issued by Pristina," Brnabic wrote in an opinion piece for Politico.

Brnabic noted that energy diversification and rule of law reforms, including further cooperation with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and its Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, would also have the attention of the new cabinet.

"Democracy extends well beyond election day and the simple act of putting a ballot in a box," Brnabic wrote. The post-election process should include everyone, even those disappointed with the results of the election, she added.
