Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in Belgrade, on March 15, that the West would either engage in a head-on conflict with Russia, or a kind of long-term truce would be established with the assistance of the United States and China, adding that Serbia should be prepared for both scenarios.

A long-term truce, if not durable peace, would be a huge relief for the world. French President Emmanuel Macron said on March 14 that Europe should prepare for war if it wanted peace, and that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not stop in Ukraine if he triumphed there.

“If things are taken toward conflict, I am afraid that no one would gain anything, and that the new conflict would take more lives than World War II, which is absolutely unimaginable for the 21st century, particularly given the nuclear capacity of the opposed sides,” Vucic said, answering a reporter’s question after meeting with Minister-President of Bavaria Markus Soder.

Soder said that the Weimar Triangle, a regional alliance of France, Germany and Poland, should be reactivated. “I am a little concerned about the German-French relationship in Europe, it was recently marked by differences in opinion, but I hope we will be able to overcome that. We will definitely not be sending German soldiers to Ukraine, but we will gladly provide support both financial and in the form of weapons,” the German politician said.
