Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, who is presiding the outgoing cabinet, has scheduled a government session for April 5 to appoint members of the team, which would try to block Pristina’s membership in the Council of Europe (CoE).

Speaking in a program on state public broadcaster RTS, Dacic said he would be co-leading the team together with Office for Kosovo and Metohija chief Petar Petkovic.

“It will be a tough battle,” Dacic noted, adding that the team members would mainly come from the Foreign Ministry, the Serbian Parliament and the Serbian president’s Office.

European Integration Minister Tanja Miscevic and Domestic and Foreign Trade Minister Tomislav Momirovic, who has good foreign trade connections, will also be on the team.

Dacic once again stressed that voting in the CoE would be determined by power, rather than by law or justice.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will take a vote on Kosovo’s application for membership on April 16, while the final say is expected at the May 16 meeting of the Committee of Ministers, the CoE’s decision-making body.
