Dveri Cacak chapter electoral camp president Bosko Obradovic said on Apr. 11 that the party would run in local elections in Cacak, as well as every city and municipality in Serbia, regardless of whether some opposition groups chose to boycott elections in Belgrade.

Obradovic, Dveri’s former president, told the Morava Info website that the party “will not act in line with the decisions of the political elites in Belgrade. “We are not interested in Belgrade, we are only interested in Cacak. What the Belgrade political elites and citizens of Belgrade will do in Belgrade is their business. As far as we are concerned we are going to run in local elections,” Obradovic said.

He added that Dveri wanted to defeat the incumbent authorities and not “gift” them four more years in power by boycotting elections in Cacak.

“We boycotted them in 2020, we did everything through this form [of protest] to direct citizens’ attention to what was happening in the local assembly and all the dishonest elections, the media and everything that stands behind this regime, but I see no purpose in gifting them four more years in power in any local self-administration in Serbia, and especially not in Cacak,” Obradovic said.
