Serbian Parliament speaker Ana Brnabic (BETAPHOTO/MILAN OBRADOVIC)

Commenting on the bill on mining and geological explorations, submitted by 86 opposition MPs and envisaging prohibiting lithium mining in Serbia, Serbian Parliament speaker Ana Brnabic on Oct. 1 described it as unconstitutional and harmful to Serbia.

Speaking on TV Pink, Brnabic said that adoption of such bill would be “devastating” and would have negative impacts on the economy.

“Banning geological explorations means stopping all projects in Serbia. Today, you cannot build a road without geological explorations. It would mean absolute absence of any sort of certainty for domestic or foreign investors,” Brnabic stressed.
