The state-owned Infrastruktura zeleznice Srbije railway infrastructure company, the developer in a remodel of the Novi Sad railway station according to the contract, never submitted a request for a use permit for this building, the Insajder media group reported on Nov. 4.
The request, which according to the Law on planning and construction must include the necessary technical documentation, must be filed by the developer, in this case Infrastruktura zeleznice Srbije, and only then can the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure issue the permit, Insajder reported.
The article recalls that the process of obtaining the permit entails an inspection, which in this case is in the purview of the responsible ministry due to the size of the structure.
The inspection verifies that all technical requirements, security standards, and regulations are met. This ensures that the building is safe for users and meets all necessary conditions of its function, the report stressed.
"According to the Law on planning and construction, a temporary use permit can be issued and would also guarantee safety to citizens until the use permit is issued. The Infrastruktura zeleznice company, however, according to Insajder's investigation, did not even secure a temporary use permit," Insajder said.
