Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric has said that Serbia is ready for changes in the geopolitical landscape, adding that pursuing reforms required for EU membership will be the country’s diplomatic priority this year.
“It will involve changes in the legislation, reforms of institutions, adaptation of society, but also intensive diplomatic activity. We want to speed up the negotiations with the EU, but in parallel to continue strengthening relations with other key international factors, while not neglecting ties with the Global South,” Djuric told Pink TV.
He stressed that Serbia’s “multi-vector foreign policy” had rendered considerable results, while one of the priorities would remain preserving Serbia’s territorial integrity in international political and legal arena. Djuric also said he had “a negative stand” on the protests in Serbia as he supported political stability, adding that he favored a constructive dialogue within institutions over “setting institutions on fire, insults and deliberately spreading social polarization.”
