During a meeting in Belgrade on March 25, members of the foreign affairs committees of the parliaments of Serbia and Hungary concurred that relations between the two countries were at the highest level, “based on the good cooperation between Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic,” the Assembly of Serbia has announced.
The president of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Serbian parliament, Deputy Speaker Marina Ragus, thanked Hungary for its support to Serbia, “particularly in view of the fact that the two peoples share traditional values and have similar visions of the future Europe,” and emphasized the support to Serbia’s energy stability and “advocating peace in the time of war.”
The president of the Hungarian Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Relations, Zsolt Nemet, has stated that friendship between Serbia and Hungary had strengthened during the past decade, on the basis of common interests and shared values. He conveyed Hungary’s satisfaction with cooperation in the energy sector and railway transport, and with the project to construct a gas pipeline between Serbia and Hungary.
