Patriarch Porfirije (BETAPHOTO/AMIR HAMZAGIC)
In his Easter address at the Patriarchate of Pec Monastery in Kosovo, Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church said on April 20 that the people of the world need each other and that “no one can [live] without others, regardless of how they pray to God, where they were born, whether they are famous or unknown, educated or uneducated.”
“In our risen Lord we are all one and that is why we should view each other solely through His Resurrection and only then is it certain that our lives will be filled with joy and that we will all be glad of each other,” the patriarch said following the Easter liturgy, the Church press service has reported.
Following the liturgy, the patriarch also awarded one hundred annual scholarships from the Sima A. Igumanov Foundation to Kosovo and Metohija students.
