BETAPHOTO/DRAGAN GOJIC
In the morning on May 20, the protesting students of the University of Novi Sad removed the fence erected at the entrance of the building housing judicial bodies in the city to enable employees to go to their workplace.
The students, according to their earlier announcement, will allow the employees to enter the building until 11 am, when the blockade will resume.
A number of employees entered the building after 7:00 am, while there were no police officers at the entrance, as was the case in previous days.
The students have encouraged all employees to show up at work, particularly those engaged in handling the appeals to extended detention for activists of the Free Citizens Movement and the movement called STAV - Students Against Authoritarian Rule.
The protesting students started blocking the courthouse in the city last Thursday, demanding the release of all detainees whom they describe as “political prisoners.”
