Bozo Prelevic (BETAPHOTO/MILOS MISKOV/AV)
Bozo Prelevic, a lawyer and defense attorney of arrested students, on July 17 said that repression was the final stage of every dictatorship, adding that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic could not provide an answer to Serbia’s citizens’ understanding of “what sort of people” were in (the ruling) Serbian Progressive Party.
“And since he (Vucic) has no response to protests of students and citizens, or response to a drop in popularity ratings of his own party, because citizens have heard what he has been saying about his own people, he has resorted to repression to stop this,” Prelevic told magazine Nedeljnik.
Prelevic added that the citizens had now realized what Vucic had been earlier saying about the Progressives’ structures - that without him “they would have been nobody and nothing.”
