Former president of the Serbian Renewal Movement and writer Vuk Draskovic said on Aug. 7 that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was not the man who he once supported, adding that not a day went by without the president of the country trampling the Constitution multiple times.

"After 2015 I realized that his formal endorsement of the EU, EU integration was manipulation. That he does not want the EU. That he only wants to get their support - financial and political - through manipulation," Draskovic said in an interview with the Nedeljnik weekly.

He said that he had supported Vucic's "public commitment to Euro-Atlantic integration, normalizing relations with Kosovo," he said. He added that "I supported the Brussels agreement, full of hope" that Vucic had truly undergone a transformation." "Vucic then, that Vucic, was who I strongly supported - and I don't regret that the least bit. This man is no longer that man," Draskovic said.
