On Aug. 20 in Belgrade, Freedom and Justice Party leader Dragan Djilas said that National Assembly of Serbia Speaker Ana Brnabic has given statements harmful to the state and should resign from office.

According to the opposition politician, all state officials including President Aleksandar Vucic should distance themselves from her claims, but this will not happen because Brnabic does nothing without Vucic’s prior agreement.

In his press release, Djilas recalled that Brnabic recently claimed that the Nov. 1, 2024 collapse of the Novi Sad railway station canopy which killed 16 people was not an accident but a deliberate event orchestrated to spark a color revolution, accusing the U.S., the U.K. and the European Union of planning and implementing said terrorist act.

Djilas further opined that, aside from the state leadership distancing themselves from Brnabic’s allegations, the parliament speaker should be prosecuted for spreading panic.

“Of course, none of this will happen because Brnabic didn’t utter such a monstrous lie without an agreement with Aleksandar Vucic. This is just one more reason, in addition to all the other crimes committed by this organized criminal group, for all its members to be brought to justice,” Djilas said of the current regime.
