The deputy president of the Freedom and Justice Party, Borko Stefanovic, stated on Aug. 20 that now was the final moment for Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to pause and peacefully accept the imminent loss of authority, instead of calling for ruling party rallies and wishing to cause a civil war.
“Aleksandar Vucic has decided to create conflict and cause a civil war by mobilizing the members of the Serbian Progressive Party from all over Serbia to take to the streets and clash with their neighbors,” Stefanovic stated. He said that “under the guise of defending normality,” the Progressives were rallying to defend the robbery, corruption and impunity of the regime, as though they have not already been deployed to the streets together with the regime’s thugs and criminals.
“This is clearly the response of the criminals in power that Vucic has announced, coupled with the stepping up of arrests of Serbian citizens. It is also clear that he regime does not want peace and law, but civil conflict and an escalation of violence, and that is why they must be stopped before they do evil that is greater than what we have been living for the past 13 years,” Stefanovic said.
