Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric said on Aug. 30 that taking part in the Expo international exhibition in Osaka was an opportunity not just to present and promote Serbian culture, philosophy and history, but also to send the message that Serbia is a country of the future -- the host of the Expo 2027.
While touring the Serbian pavilion at the Expo in Osaka, Djuric said he was proud that Serbia had one of the most visited pavilions, with over 700,000 visitors.
"We also want to become a gathering place for entrepreneurs, thinkers, people who need to solve humanity's problems -- from climate change and challenges related to the sustainability of life on Earth considering all of the problems that humanity faces, to art, play, culture, which is the theme of our Expo -- play for humanity," the minister said.
According to the minister, the country's pavilion is at the same time officially the most economical in the organizers' estimation, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release. He said that his tour of the Expo in Osaka completed a successful visit to Japan which is according to him "a step forward" in relations between the two countries. The minister spent two days in Japan where he met with the country's officials.
