A key document is missing from the materials for the City of Belgrade Assembly session to be held on Sept. 19, namely, the report on the work of the city administration in the first six months of the year, Nikola Jovanovic, director of the Center for Local Government, said on Sept. 17.

"Belgraders are paying as much as RSD25 billion for the city administration this year and the city leadership is obligated to lay out to the citizens what was done with that money and what the city administration did and how," the Center for Local Government quoted Jovanovic as saying in a press release.

Jovanovic went on to say that the fact that councillors in the assembly, the public and the people were deprived of this key document was a flagrant violation of the law and the principles of transparency and responsibility, and was a slap in the face of all taxpayers in Belgrade.
