At the end of 2025 Serbia placed at the very top of the European list of stolen cargo, according to the latest report released by the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA EMEA) after a record at the end of 2023 when the value of stolen goods exceeded EUR5 million, the eKapija website reported on Jan. 8.

On the list of most "costly" thefts ranking second was registered by the TAPA EMEA Intelligence System (TIS) in November 2025 - the theft of a money armored truck in Raska, which was also reported on by the Serbian media.

TAPA does not publicly disclose all of the details of the thefts that its member report, although it did say in its Cargo Crime Monitor monthly report that the heist "occurred in Raska on Nov. 17" and was conducted by masked attackers armed with guns who intercepted the vehicle which was transporting money, forced two security guards to leave the vehicle and ran off with around EUR2 million, eKapija said.

This case was highlighted as one of the biggest cargo crimes in the regions of Europe, the Middle East and Africa in November, during which TAPA's information system (TIS) registered 570 new crimes connected to cargo theft. France ranked first in this period where EUR2.48 million worth of perfume was stolen from a warehouse on Nov. 22. Italy ranked third.
