Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Jan. 13 said that he did not want to meet with a delegation of the European Parliament (EP), which is scheduled to visit Serbia in late January, because “they will come to Belgrade uninvited.”
Speaking to reporters in Abu Dhabi, Vucic said that he would not be in Serbia at the time of the EP delegation arrival due to his previously scheduled obligations, but noted that he would not meet with them even if he was available.
“The haters of Serbia have sat down and decided to come to Belgrade, while failing to consult with us or inform us of their plans. We have not invited them. They will come uninvited (...) I have scheduled obligations in Davos. I am not avoiding them, but even if I were in Belgrade at the time, I would not meet with them,” said Vucic, who attended the opening of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit 2026.
The Serbian president said that he only wanted to talk with people who had good intentions for Serbia and that he would have such meetings in Davos.
Also, Parliament speaker Ana Brnabic on Jan. 12 said that the EP delegation would visit Serbia uninvited, and that she would not meet with them as she would be in Estonia.
The EP delegation is planned to visit Belgrade from Jan. 22 to 24, when Vucic will be attending the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.
