Emergency Situation Still in Effect Due to Snow in Six Municipalities in Serbia

Ice-Snow Emergency Declared in 11 Municipalities

An emergency situation due to the consequences of snowfall is still in force in six municipalities, and was abolished in Krupanj on Jan. 16.

At the moment, the emergency situation is still in effect in the municipalities of Osecina, Mali Zvornik, Majdanpek, Sjenica, Ivanjica, and a portion of territory of the municipality of Lucani.

Public broadcasting service RTS has reported that commissions tasked with assessing the damage are on the ground, while the citizens who have suffered material damage are entitled to assessment and compensation.

The Republic Emergency Situations Headquarters will convene on Jan. 16 and will discuss the hydrological and meteorological situation, the situation in the field, and activities of the Sector for Emergency Situations.
