Minister without portfolio Nenad Popovic has said that Serbia needs Russia’s cheapest gas and oil for to ensure stable supply and security of its economy and citizens, according to a release from his Office on March 10.
“From Russia, Serbia receives gas supplies under the most favorable conditions and at the lowest price in Europe, and most importantly, Serbia has guaranteed quantities of gas from Russia,” the minister stressed.
Popovic has talked with Russian Deputy Industry and Commerce Minister Aleksei Gruzdev about further development of economic ties between the two countries, focusing on ways to increase bilateral trade and strengthen cooperation in the fields of energy, economy, trade, industry, investments, digitization, and new technologies.
“We will continue to work at the same pace and intensity and remain firmly committed to building a long-term economic partnership with Russia, as we are convinced that this collaboration will bring concrete and sustainable results for both parties,” Popovic said.
Gruzdev said that Russia attached great importance to further promotion of bilateral relations with Serbia, adding that Moscow considered Serbia as a reliable partner in the region and an important economic ally.
“We are very much looking forward to participating at EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, which stands as a significant opportunity for Serbia to promote its economic potential and attract new investments,” Gruzdev said.
