The Basic Court in Pristina has pronounced Zoran Kostic and Dragan Milovic guilty as co-perpetrators in war crimes and sentenced them to extended prison terms.
Kostic has been sentenced to 15 years and Dragan Milovic to seven years, for war crimes against the civilian population in the area of Vucitrn in 1999, during the armed conflict in Kosovo, Radio KIM reported on March 18.
Kostic was indicted for the murder of the Ujkani family in the village of Reznik, burning their property and beating two Albanian civilians, one of whom was subsequently also murdered. According to the prosecution, Dragan Milovic was guilty of abuse and maltreatment of Albanians in the area of Vucitrn.
Kostic and Milovic were arrested on Sept. 20, 2023, together with Ilija Elezovic who has since passed away. The indictment against them was raised in May 2024 and the trial began in December last year.
