Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on April 4 that he would accept a nomination for the next prime minister of Serbia "only if surveys show there is no other solution and that certain people - the very ones who committed crimes against education and many other things against Serbia - would win if I don't run."

"Ergo, a very rational answer. I don't have anything else to tell you on that subject, so accordingly when we hear out all other people, we will make a decision," Vucic told Informer TV. Speaking about talks at the Presidency building on elections and Serbia's foreign policy, broached on April 3, he said he found it "interesting that some want to stand in line to talk to [European Parliament rapporteur for Serbia] Tonino Picula, and for the tenth time do not want to talk to their own president, the president of Serbia."

"Because I'm not their man, all their hate is reduced to saying, 'you're not our president' but Picula is theirs. I will always stand for dialogue. I have never had anything against dialogue. But the nature of dialogue is that I also have the right to say what I think, so if someone thinks I'm their punching bag, that will never be the case," Vucic said.
