Should the Student Ticket win the Oct. 25 snap parliamentary elections, the new cabinet will create a just society where the law will be abided by, the ticket’s lead candidate, Ilija Srdanovic, announced on Sept. 24.
“Without justice, the law, respect for rights and equality before the law, there will be no further steps,” Srdanovic told the latest edition of the Radar weekly.
This will apply to everyone – including incumbent president of state Aleksandar Vucic – and anyone who has violated the law will be brought to justice, Srdanovic added.
“The president is one of our six-seven million citizens, and is in no way above the rest of Serbia. All the rules of the game will apply to President Vucic in the same way as [they will apply] to any other citizen. If he has violated the law, he will answer for it,” Srdanovic said.
He also said that lustration should only scare those who plundered public companies and engaged in corruption to rob the country of its riches for their own gain.
